December 4, 2019 - Davenport, Iowa - Cobham is seeking a
Senior Electrical Engineer for electronics
design of aerospace life support and air-to-air refueling equipment. As a growing
organization in both commercial and defense aerospace markets, the successful candidate
will have the opportunity to develop embedded electronic solutions for Cobham's
industry leading safety and mission critical products and test equipment. The position
is located in Davenport, IA.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and qualifies highly reliable electronic designs for military and commercial
aerospace applications.
Develops detailed digital electronic and embedded microcontroller circuits and
schematics including the specification for components.
Leads and participates in Design Reviews for
compliance with engineering principles, best practices, company standards, customer
requirements, and related specifications.
Leads or participates as a member of an integrated product development team
to optimize designs and verify electronic/electrical system performance.
Conducts predictive circuit performance analysis.
Interfaces with printed wire board layout designers, mechanical, thermal and
stress engineers to ensure proper packaging of electronic designs.
Interface with procurement and suppliers to ensure optimized component sourcing.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents,
and provide estimates for proposals.
Supports creation of development, qualification and manufacturing test procedures
for electronic designs.
Conducts root-cause-analysis and technical investigations
for software/hardware designs.
Provide engineering assistance to production, service, and repair personnel.
Provide guidance and assistance to technicians for assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
of prototype products.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BS EE or EET) from an ABET accredited
program.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering for high reliability
applications.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware
that is controlled by export laws of the U.S. In order to be eligible you must be
either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience performing full life cycle product development from concept to fielding.
Experience with embedded microcontroller and/or FPGA designs interfacing with
peripheral sensors and electromechanical equipment.
Experience performing critical circuit analysis/simulation utilizing tools such
as PSpice.
Design experience for typical aerospace environmental requirements such as MIL-STD-810,
DO-160, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-46.
Experience developing to high rigor development standards such as DO-178 and/or
DO-254.
Experience with ORCAD Schematic Capture.
Experience with DOORS or formal requirements management tools.
Experience with avionics data buses such as MIL-STD-1553 and/or ARINC 429.
