| | Sorry, but Log In is now necessary due to spam floods - RF Cafe Forums |
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.
Below are all of the forum threads, including all
the responses to the original posts.

Well, I have resisted requiring registrations and Log In for posting to the forum, but the extremely large amount of spam postings flooding the topics every day has gotten out of hand. I simply cannot spend so much time deleting postings and blocking IP addresses. It seems once the spam robots discover a vulnerable forum, they go wild.
With 12 digits of IP address available, there are 10^12 addresses possible - too many to block individually. Beside, the scumbags purchase blocks of IP addresses and when they have all been used, discard them and buy another block.
Personally, I love the thought of these guys being slaughtered with hammers to the head like the one in Russia a few months ago. In fact, the majority of these IP address come from Russia and China. Korea and the Philippines are right up there, too. Some even come from within the boundaries of the U.S., and from well-known companies in the RF components business (one of them is the same company whose representative I spoke to on the phone shortly after 9/11 who commented that he was offended that I had anti-Bin Laden material on RF Cafe – I reported it to the FBI).
So, as usual, the honest pay the price for the dishonest. I apologize for the inconvenience. I am currently working with the IT people from the RF Cafe hosting service to resolve the need to usually log in twice to get access. Hopefully, the issue will be corrected soon and only a single log in will be needed. Also, I had the flood interval (minimum time between posts) set to 2 minutes to limit the spam postings, but have reset it now to 20 seconds. Thank you for your patience.

I would love to personally beat the heck out of the morons that cause us to have to indure these kinds of inconveniences. The @$^&$^% cowards hide behind their anonimity. What really baffles me is why there are enough equally moronic people out there that make their efforts worth while. Oh, I seem to have fixed the double log in problem (at least I can repeatedly log in with a single attempt). Thanks for your participation in the forum - you always and an interesting angle to things. _ _________________ - Kirt Blattenberger RF Cafe Progenitor & Webmaster |
