Forum Spammer - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Greetings:

Will somebody please hunt down and kill the SOB that keeps posting the Chinese cellphone website messages all over this forum? I'm getting tired of deleting them. :smt067

We will all appreciate your efforts.

Greetings:

Here's the IP address that the spammer seems to always post from.

218.11.177.212

It appears to be from Australia. Anyone know how to track it down to a single user so I can nail this scumbag?

Greetings:

If anybody knows how to punish this website for continuing to post garbage on these forums, please do so.

https://yidong256.nease.net/256/yd119.htm

It's taking a lot of time to have to go through every day and delete them. I'm guessing some POS is manually entering them, because previously they had been posted under user names like "dgdgd" or "hjhj," but I blocked them. Now the POS is just posting as anonymous.

If it doesn't stop, then I'm going to have to require that only registered users can post, and I do not want to do that.

Please take any action you know of against the above mentioned website, or any other that you find buried in the posts that are full of Chinese characters.

Greetings kpainter:

I've got to admit that try as I did, I couldn't muster up any sympathy for the spammer. Those idiots along with virus spreaders are the equivalent of terrorists in that they are too cowardly to fight in the open, and they wreak inestimable damage on the world. When someone finally finds the caves they live in (or apartments in Moscow in this case) - it's light out!

Thanks for the link.

Greetings Kirt,

Eventually there will be no choice but to post messages of registered users only.

It is pretty frustrating to see a spammed message in a thread that one posted and waiting for reply or feedback. I am sure that it is equally frustrating to clean the spammed messages frequently.

We should find a solution to this global problem :smt068 :smt065 :smt100

Greetings IR:

Yes, and I think the article kpainter posted might be the only way to clean it up, because obviously the spammers are not goint to go away voluntarily.
