At work I have been taked with investigating
the use of a system that indicates that the
RF cable connected to our antenna is transmitting.
Someone mentioned a method similar to
clampmeter. It purpose is to run a light that
indicates it is operation. I am by no means
an expert in this area, so any help would be
Thanks in advance
Something like this may be possible depending
on how good the cable shield attenuation is. If
it's a solid shield coaxial cable the attenuation
may be so high that it would not be possible to
detect transmitter power through the shield. Then
again, the transmitting antenna and other leakage
may provide enough signal. Key issues are: the transmitter
power level, frequency, and moduation type.
