The simplest way to make phase noise measurements with a spectrum analyser will be detailed in John Miles website at :

particular, follow the link in the PN.EXE information to the HP Application Note AN 270-2. Phase noise measurements couldn't be easier! I have a TEK 495P analyser and use a GPIB-to-USB dongle (see link for dongle information below).

The dongle will work with a wide assortment of analysers- check the list to see if yours is included.
