| | communications certs/and licenses - RF Cafe Forums |
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.
Below are all of the forum threads, including all
the responses to the original posts.

I began working on communications towers, tv, radio, cell, mw, ect about five years ago, and thus become very interested in EM wave, electricity, magnetism, and all associated fields. I am just wondering if there is some certs or licenses that I have yet to come across that I might be able to acquire that might aid me in the more technical end of this career(other than your basic Anritsu certs, and company product sponsored certs), I was interested in the wcet, but unfortunately I do not meet the qualifications of for it. Are there more certs or licenses available in these areas that might be aquireable, perhaps more knowledge based for testing, as I am unable to go through the traditional means(i.e. college) at the moment, and really don't want to waste my time with gratuitous cert/lic, anything that would both further my knowledge and personal advancement in this area of the industry, through self-education and the hands on ex I get everyday.
Thank you for any ideas you might have.

Have you visited the FCC website that lists the available certifications? There are usually home study courses available for studying for the exams.

Earning amateur radio operator licenses demonstrates knowledge, and earns you brownie points with potential customers/employers who also have Hams on staff.

I've been able find some fairly decent info, I know you are a busy man, I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Your website is an instrumental gateway to finding alot of the information out there that is available to educate myself.
