Trouble in Paradise? - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Here's an interesting headline off the news wires:

I am glad to maintain a separate curreny and culture from the rest of Europe. As with welfare in the United States, the grand vision of a single Europe only serves to redistribute the wealth of hard workers to those who prefer their holidays and handouts. I will happliy work along side you, but would prefer to maintain my heritage. We can share a continent without sharing a government.

What do you say?

No one loves the European Union, that's why French and Dutch refused the constitution. But if Europe wants to compete with the rest of the world, we have to stick together. But we Europeans don't understand that, because most of us are quite stupid ... :?

Hopefully I'll be able to leave this continent to move to Canada / Australia / USA !
