Besser Associates?? - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Does anyone know anything about Besser Associates training? Is it worth the $? Is it respected in the industry? Thanks for the help.

Good day.

I have taken three different Besser Associates courses (Applied RF Techniques I, Applied RF Techniques II, and RF Fundamentals, Modeling and De-Embedding Techniques) and I thought they were all good.

As with all classes, the quality of the course comes down to the instructor. Besser Associates tries hard to get good instructors.

It is my understanding that industry does not recognize them the same way they would for a course from a university. However, the knowledge you gain could very easily put you ahead of other engineers.

Are they worth the cost, I would say yes, but the courses I took were paid for by the company I was working for.

If I have the opportunity to take another course I would even if I had to pay for it myself.

As a side note, I would strongly recommend you check out some of the webinars that Besser Associates have held.

Best of luck
Michael
