national technological university - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.

is this degree (EE masters) from NTU worth anything?
i am working in industry and planning to do degree online part time.
in industry is it worth anything?

I know three or four people who have gotten Master's degrees from NTU and they have had no problems. All had been working as engineers while earning their degrees, so by the time they graduated, their experience in the field had somewhat minimized the importance of from which college the degree was earned. The situation is probably different if you go straight from a BS degree to a Master's from NTU, but that scenario is unlikely anyway.
While working for General Electric and then Lockheed Martin in the early 1990s, I took a few courses from NTU (via satellite) and got some really good instructors from U. Mass. and other places. I never completed my Master's degree, though (was going for a MSEE in microwave technology).
So, if the convenience of NTU is good for you and you already are working, then I wouldn't hesitate to get a degree from them.

I can only speak for UMASS Amherst, but they offer courses and a masters program via satellite/video. The degree earned is a Masters in EE from the the University. They treat it the same as if you were on campus.
