Recently, I have been getting
a lot of contacts by recruiters who ignore my statement
that says only companies actually hiring engineers,
managers and technicians are welcome to publicize
their available positions. They all claim to be
the exception to the general recruiter reputation
stigma and attempt to convince me that they should
be allowed to post. Of course, the fact that they
contact me after I give a clear reason for why not
to contact me is an indication of the nature of
The analogy would be a salesman who sees a "No Solicitors"
sign on the door, and then walks in to explain to
the proprietor why he (or she) is a different kind
of solicitor than the one implied on the sign.
Just this morning, a recruiter sent me an e-mail
requesting such an exception. I wrote back reiterating
my clear comments on the website. She then proceeded
to call me to help me understand how wrong I was.
This phone call went on for probably 15 minutes,
and she would not give up. I finally told her she
was just wasting my time, so she came up with the
playground retort of, "well you're just wasting
my time." Who called whom after being told not to
That is all the evidence I
need to confirm my reason for not inviting recruiters
onto RF Cafe. They treat engineers, managers, and
technicians the same way.
