Can use the same H1B Visa - RF Cafe Forums

Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Below are all of the forum threads, including all the responses to the original posts.

Post subject: Can use the same H1B Visa Posted: Fri Jul 15, 2005 3:12 am
Hi All

I used to work in the US as a RF Design Engineer between 1999 and 2001 on a H1B visa. After the economic downturn due to 9/11, I went back to my home country and my H1B Visa expired in 2002.

I am very much interested to come back to work in the US again. Is it possible for any prospective employer to re-activate my H1B visa which will enable me to return to USA on the same H1B visa? Or do the prospective employers have to apply for a brand new H1B visa? Would appreciate some feedback on this.

I have been applying to many companies in the US but so far haven't had any calls yet! Is the economy and job market for RF Engineers down currently? How is the situation in Canada?

Thanks, rgds

The job market is up, at least in my area (Mass.). I beleive you need to reapply for the visa. We just hired someone, but he had an existing visa in which we transferred.

thanks for the info. Well, I have to keep applying and hope that the organization is willing to process H1B.
