Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
page, please do.

Post subject: questions about model files and simulator

Hi..How are you?
I want to design a 2.4G LC-VCO based PLL as an interest (no tape out).So
I have several questions about model files and simulator.
are inductor, varator and resistance in my circuit. If I want to simulate
this circuit, Must the model file include inductor, varator and resistance
parameters besides PMOS NMOS parameters?
2) If I use mixed-mode files(not
RF process model and there are only PMOS and NMOS parameters in my model)
to simulate my circuit, what will the simulator do? The simulator will
act the inductors, varators as ideal component?
3) How to get free
RF model files as practice?
4) What is the difference between
HSPICE and SpectreRF(or @DS)? In my company,HSPICE the main simulator.but
I know SpectreRF(or @DS) is the dominant simulator in RFIC. At a word,
HSPICE is not suitable for what frequency range?
Thank you very
