Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.

I was wondering if I may ask a small question regarding the calculation of real power dissipation from a simple R & L components circuit connected in series and powered by a an AC square wave. The measurements I have is:
Power supply DC Voltage :V_dc Power supply DC current :I_dc RMS current through the circuit :I_rms
I simply wanted to know, why is the "real power " equal to V_dc*I_dc and not V_dc*I_rms?
Thank you very much for your time and guidance.
Cheers!

A good question. I can't reply, but I am considering to give a try.

the thing is why would you say the circuit is powered by an AC square wave when you are using a DC power supply?
