help to design a 1:6 transformer - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. I want to design a high power(200w CW) directional coupler as following circuit,It work over the range from (30~80)MHz.

I am going to use a 3:5 voltage ratio transmission-line transformer as a 1:3 impedance ratio transformer.

However I don't know how to design 1:6 impedance ratio transformer, who can help me?

Hi,

That's an interesting approach, but as an engineer I would suggest simple and practical.

There is lots of reference on how to design core and wire directional couplers.
