design mobile flash sticker antenna? diode antenna LED? - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Post subject: design mobile flash sticker antenna? diode antenna LED? Posted: Wed Jul 20, 2005 9:09 am

I want to know how the flash sticker antenna are made? The flash antenna which you can buy and stick at the outside (cover) of your mobile and which flash when you have got a mobile call (size about 2cmx1cm).It looks that the antenna is meander like and serie connected with 2 diodes and then in serie with LED:s, in a closed loop on one layer.

How is the antenna designed? Is it an monopole or what and which frequency is it designed for 1800MHz etc? How to make the antenna so small and broadband allowing an LED or something to be connected and feeded? How is the antenna matched?

What output voltage for a circuit like this could you expect (single diode)?

I would appreciate as much information as possible about the antenna design etc for being able to make a similar circuit.
