Plutonium Post subject: Tunnel diode versus dual gate MOSFET
Unread postPosted: Fri Jul 30, 2004 6:33 am Would like to exchange
your experience with tunnel diode, high stability oscillators. Lets
say 400MHz to start with. It seems to me, they have much cleaner output
and stability compared to bjt. Top Guest

Tunnel diodes are an older technology that's harder to buy than
BJTs. (Almost) no new devices have been introduced in the last decade.
That's a good indicator that other approaches work better. Check
out Randy Rhea's book on oscillator design - he does a good job of providing
analysis tools for oscillator noise.
