Spice simulation of Gunn Diode Oscillator - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Below are all of the forum threads, including all the responses to the original posts.

Hello I'm new in this forum. I wanted to know if anyone has some experience with modeling at both device and behavioral model of a Gunn Diode? I am working specifically on an experimental set-up using a MA86728 connected to a small Horn Antenna. Some tips on how to be able to do this in SPICE will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Berns B.

Hi,

What level of accuracy do you need in the simulation? SPICE has some inherent limitations that will make some aspects of the simulation either extremely difficult or impossible - but some level of success can probably be had.

What is important to you to get from such a simulation?

Good Luck!
