Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.

Could it be that the people looking to build jammers, who seem to be mostly from areas like India, Pakistan, etc., are looking to build devices to protect themselves in public places? If I lived in an area prone to such attacks, having a cellphone blocker operating that could prevent remote detonation calls from being received within a radius of a few hundred feet would be very appealing. The inconvenience to everybody else pales in comparison. Of course, now that I think about it while writing this post, it is possible that the bad guys want them to prevent their own devices from going off prematurely while being delivered to the scene of the crime. It is a shame that a handful of terrorists, supported by many large OPEC countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran, can commandeer such wonderful technologies that are the hard work of respectable people, and exploit them for harm. I've asked the question before: Why does the vast majority of the world's population not band together to utterly destroy the sect that finds it eternally rewarding to kill innocents? Those people should be utterly afraid to ever make their intentions known, and be dealt with in an overwhelming manner when caught perpetrating an act of terrorism. I actually thought the same thing. But I didn't consider your counterpoint about using the damn things to keep the bombs from going off during the delivery phase. Maybe you should delete all the jammer posts. Hard to say where someone's right free speech on the forum is trumphed by my right to keep living. That news about the suicide bomber in OK City is disturbing, since it was learned that he had Jihad material from the mosque down the road in his apartment. I got that off the Internet. It is not the tool of a suicider! Of all the methods of spectrum use, is civilian EW jamming now a kind of street norm? I can take a free speech from a potential jammer, provided it is just a speech. An act of jamming is hardly that, and casual jamming/jammer construction is hard to justfy in any civilised social context. Hell, the spectrum is jammed up enough. Why does anyone think they can arrogate to themselves the right to "jam" anything? Is this a feedthrough from the videogames culture? Is it "I'm gonna jam your block unless you pay me"? What?
