Guest Post subject: SMA-connector at the solderside Posted: Wed
Oct 19, 2005 11:34 am Hi all, has anyone experience with
sma-connectors mounted on the solderside of an rf-circuit. By doing
this I can place the connectors at the optimal places on the board.
But I don't know how to simulate the sma-to-microstrip transitions with
sonnet. Thank you fpr your help Top Guest
Post subject: Posted: Thu Oct 20, 2005 11:13 am Unfortunately
you need a 3-D simulator. But the lumped element euivilent circuit is
a inductor with a capacitor to ground. Inductor for the connector. The
shunt capacitor models the coupling capacitanec to ground.

pm I don't have a 3D-Simulator. And the time to get familiar with
such a tool may not be short. Or is there any 3D-simulator for free?
