RF to DC converter question - RF Cafe Forums

Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

I have an HF amp that produces 1KW. I run this thru a bi-directional coupler with -30db forward port. I need to build an ALC circuit to turn my driver down when the amp begins to overdrive. My exciter external ALC circuit expects to see 0Vdc when no turn-down is needed, and up to -4Vdc when the amp reaches distortion. I need a circuit that will take an RF signal in the HF band and develop an adjustable 0 to -4Vdc out. Any ideas or sources.

Check out Analog Devices - they have some excellent RF-to-DC converters.
