GaAs MESFET SPICE Model - RF Cafe Forums

Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Below are all of the forum threads, including all the responses to the original posts.

I'm trying to simulate a circuit on ADS that works between 500MHz and 2500MHz. I decided to use a GaAs MESFET but I'm having some problems in finding an accurate model. Can anyone point me to where I can get accurate models (some examples of devices that I would like to find SPICE models for are CLY5, CLY10, or CLY15)? If these models are not available, how can I know the values to input in the MESFET model in ADS?

Hi Layla,

There are ususally 2 sources for that:

1. To ask the manufacturer for the SPICE model.
2. The data is available in the ADS or other simulation tool you are using.

Sometimes the SPICE model is not available as a file but as a list of parameters which you have to manually enter into the simulation tool. I have done that several times in the past with GaAs FET transistors which I used for design an RF predistortion circuit.

If you need more information, please let me know.

also in ADS a feature called netlist translator , u can convert the models of pspice , hspice , spectre to ADS model , it is very efficient
