hellical antenna array in HFSS! - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. hi every body

I am going to design a planar square 4 element array of hellical antennas in x band. anybody can help me to draw a helical antenna in HFSS simply?
and is there a better simulator for this kind of antenna?
another question, can HFSS gather data to form a array from a single antenna run or I should export the s-parameters to another program?

a planar square antenna should be no problem at all with HFSS. Just sketch out the boundaries and corners of your antenna on a piece of paper. Create rectangles accordingly and unite them. If you are more familiar with AutoCAD, you can draw it in there, export the file into a sat file and import that into HFSS.

HFSS is fine for this kind of antenna

HFSS has a helix generator so that should be quite quick to draw. Also, HFSS allows you to simulate one antenna and then see the radiation pattern of an arbitrary array - you just enter the spacing from one antenna to the next.

I was also been designing a similar problem wass you been able to design and simulate that 4 array helical antenna.
If so i need your help in that if you can share it with me .
