a simple question about Proximity-coupled Patch Antenna - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. Hi, everyone, Happy New Year.

I have a simple question about Proximity-coupled Patch Antenna. I have done some simulations in IE3D with two-layer substrates. I am wondering about the fabrication:

1. What kind of file do I need to send to PCB house? I am wondering can I just send the Gerber file without PCB drawing software?

2. Can the PCB house make this kind of Antenna board, how much does it usually cost?

As a PCB Manufacturer, I perfer ODB++ or Gerber 274-X. The ODB++ format is optimum because there is no guessing on my part for the buildup of the board. Extended Gerber or 274-X is the next perfered, that has all apperatures embedded in the files. Also just ask the company you want to use and also look at their web site, they usually have the requested format listed somewhere.
