What is the effective area of patch antennas? - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if i'm posting this at the wrong place.

I am currently using the forumula Aeff(effective area) = (lambda^2)*Gain / 4*pi to calculate the effective area of a patch antenna. From what i remember, the above formula works for a wire antenna but not sure if its the same for a patch antenna.

Any help will be greately appreciated.
