Phased Array SimulatoVery Small FM Antennas???? - RF Cafe Forums

Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Does anyone knows any companies specializing in designing very small broadband VHF antennas (couple of cm) with gains higher than -20 dBi, Omni pattern and matched over a band of 169 to 218 MHz (VSWR 2:1)? Any help is appreciated.

A book named Small Antennas may be helpful for your design. It was written by K. Fujumoto and published by Reserach Studies Press in 1988. You may look it from the library.

Thanks for your reply. I will look into that book for design ideas, but I wanted to check if there was anything aleady available. Please let me know if you are aware of any companies making these type of antennas.

Hi sos,

There is the company dedicates to small antennas and its website is However, there isn't an antenna in the band you required. I think this kind of antenna, which has special requirements, may need to custom design.

By the way, its omni pattern is at all directions or just in a plane? There is a big difference between them.
