Dear all

I have purchased a satellite reciever and settop box combo box it shows satellite free to air chennels connected with Dish cable but will not show local chennels at all as there is no RF signals even it is connected with working roof Antenna. Not sure if this USA purchased receiver need some kind of RF converter to meet Australian standard whatsoever.

Please assiste me in purchasing some kind of converter or adapter to have signals for local chennels through this box.

Looking farward to hear some solutions for this and will apperciate to buy items that is the correct solutions from you.

As you will see, the frequencies do not coincide with each other, and neither do the bandwidths (6 MHz for U.S. vs. 7 MHz for Aussie). So, if it is a U.S. converter, that would explain the incompatibility.

Over-the-air signals are picked up by placing a special VHF/UHF antenna on the satellite dish, and then either couple into the satellite cable or are routed in a separate coax to the indoor receiver. If you do not have that extra antenna, then you cannot get the over-the-air channels.
