Very simple, take the ad8302 from analog devices, and you are almost done.
Add a directional coupler, a Rf signal source and thats it.
For more details see the ad8302 datasheet.
Maybe u would like to order the evaluation board...

Unfortunately, the AD8302 method of measuring phase is not very accurate near the match ( 0 degree and 180 degree). Also, it works best with signals that are both nearly the same. So you need a lot of ways to contrive this, and to keep account of attenuators and gains.

I am sure it can be useful, especially in transmitter monitoring and in control loops, and even to be the heart of a cheaper network analyser, but I am thinking that real industry network analysers are unaffordable to guys like me for a reason.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The Internet was still largely an unknown entity at the time and not much was available in the form of WYSIWYG ...
