Helical Antenna Design - RF Cafe Forums
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Hello - I'm an audio, not an RF guy,
and I'm having difficulty Googleing concise info regarding the basic design/theory of operation of helical antennas. I've found pix and plans for axial/endfire helicals, but not what has been described as "normal"/spherical/hemispherical/omni designs - the one with the radiation pattern that can best be described as torroidal or omnidirectional, rather than hypercardioidal. I have used a company in the UK, called European Antennas, for these type of antennas. They have a wide range of products for all of the applications, and its far easier than building them yourself. There web-site is www.european-antennas.co.uk
