Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.

Posts: 5 | Hi James. Do you know if anyone (maybe you) makes a compact FM antenna that does not require something like headphone wires to act as the antenna? I know obtainig a reasonable efficieny in a small form factor at 88-108 MHz is tough (or impossible). Any thoughts?

About 20 years ago I bought from a mail order catalogue a low profile compact receive antenna that claimed to cover VHF FM and Band IV/V TV.
I will examine the case to see if there is a clue to the manufacturer. I bought 4 at the time, and I'm still using them as indoor antennas because my apartment has no means of installing an outdoor antenna for FM.
The size is about the same as a pack of 20 ciggies (am I allowed to be non-PC here?) or a lady's powder compact (ditto). It is certainly effective, but to examine it by reverse engineering, I would have to destroy it using a hacksaw. I think it must use some kind of VHF/UHF ferrite, with a coil would over it of a few turns.
