Effect of static Magnetic field on EM in near field - RF Cafe Forums

Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views. It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if you would like to post something on RF Cafe's Facebook page, please do.

Hi All
I want to know how
A Fixed magnet (which casues its own static magnetic field) will affect any other Electromagnetic (radio) signal especially when we are trying to carry energy/information using magnetic component of EM wave which is typical for near field applictions.

As long as we are concerned only by the antennas, I don't think a DC field will have any impact. Antenna are resonnant circuit, and so are also the receiving networks, a DC field will be mostly rejected.

Would the situation you describe be a problem we would have a serious issue with the earth magnetic field.
