Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.

Location: Banfield | Hi, guys. I am Osvaldo from Banfield, Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also am ham radio, my call is LW1DSE. I´ll make a 144 MHz antenna, that here is known as "antena de esqueleto" (Skeleton antenna????) and is derived from the slot one. Does anybody know the original english name of it?
It appears to be the electric opposite from a 1/2 lambda antenna (half wave), and it is used in aircrafts(???)

The 'antenna' is actually used just as a driven element for 2 yagis, one above the other.
The name given by the inventor was 'skeleton slot' and you are right: it is the electromagnetic inverse of a metal sheet dipole.
If you do a search under skeleton slot you should find it.
Antennas used to be made and sold by J-Beam in the UK, but I think they have discontinued the design some years ago. However, several amateur publications give dimensions for different bands.

Location: Banfield | Thanks, Nubbage. Yes, I knew it in an old spanish tv antenna handbook (written about 1951), a friend gives me 20 years ago. But I want to do one for the 2m Amateur band, beause I like uncommon antennas!!!. And also I wanted to look for any data from Google, but I did´t know the original name. I tryed with a lot of synonimous, but unfortunately the results was few.
