T&M World's Rick Nelson Stumping for Obama - Again - RF Cafe Forums

RF Cafe Forums closed its virtual doors in late 2012 mainly due to other social media platforms dominating public commenting venues. RF Cafe Forums began sometime around August of 2003 and was quite well-attended for many years. By 2012, Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmingly dominating online personal interaction, and RF Cafe Forums activity dropped off precipitously. Regardless, there are still lots of great posts in the archive that ware worth looking at. Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts. Don't get me wrong, I love Test & Measurement World magazine, but I'm sick and damned tired of its editor Rick Nelson doing free political ads for Obama and against McCain. His blogs have been full of thinly vieled endorsements of Obama and slams against McCain. In the last year or so he has gotten really brazen.

I personally think that editors of professional trade magazines do not have the same freedom that local newspaper editors have to endorse candidates. Note that newspapers are seeing their readerships and subscription rates declining and are cutting lots of staff because of the public's distaste for their one-sided reporting.

It's happening a lot these days. Maybe those of us who are sick of Nelson's stumping should cancel our subscriptions, and maybe contact their advertisers. I plan to do so. He can vote for whoever he wants as far as I care, but I don't read T&M Mag to get his bias on politics.
