| | Need a Morse Code Expert - RF Cafe Forums |
Because of the high maintenance needed to monitor and filter spammers from the RF Cafe Forums, I decided that it would
be best to just archive the pages to make all the good information posted in the past available for review. It is unfortunate
that the scumbags of the world ruin an otherwise useful venue for people wanting to exchanged useful ideas and views.
It seems that the more formal social media like Facebook pretty much dominate this kind of venue anymore anyway, so if
you would like to post something on RF Cafe's
Facebook page, please do.
Below are all of the forum threads, including all
the responses to the original posts.

Can anybody tell me what it says?
Thanks guys.

The Morse Code is played coming back into the show after the top of each hour. http://www.wmmbam.com/main.html There's a ListenLive link on the page. Thanks dude. I can see that you're REAL ham, so I'm sure you'll get it.

You can listen to it here (yeah, a weird domain name, but Norton thinks it's safe to visit): http://gb.thescrewedgeneration.com/gbptheme2008.mp3 Anyone care to translate? I could do it by listening 100 times, but surely there is a 50 WPM codemeister out there who can do it in one shot. I think the first part is "BCFEI0UBC0...," but I loose it after that. If I missed a "dit" after the first letter, then it could be "BECK... and then a 0..." _________________ - Kirt Blattenberger RF Cafe Progenitor & Webmaster

When chatting with hams in Sweden for example, they may use some of the characters we don't know in English. I just ignore those characters but still get the message. Just as if I mispell Blatt-nb-rg-r our brain does the error correction for us.
Almost every time you hear Morse in a movie or on the radio etc it is just 5 letter code groups.
In the movie "Enemy of the State" I think it was, I burst out laughing in the movie theatre because when Hollywood showed a satellite in space it was accompanied by " CQ " ! ! ! ! ! !

BC Ü TA0WBC 031950 Ü OFFSHORE RATER I
Supposedly the Ü is a linefeed (or break) character, so this might be a teletype message meant to look like this:
BC TA0WBC 031950 OFFSHORE RATER I
Glenn Beck himself has said that he has no idea wht it says; he and his producer randomply pickked it out of some sound effects that they had on-hand.

BC (break)TA0WBC (Note: I think this may be a call sign) (break) 031950 (Note: I think this is a date 03/19/50) OFFSHORE ..there is more but I can't hear it.
If anyone needs morse translation, just send me a mp3 file and I will be happy to translate for you.
