6    Component DC Power Supply Specification
Below the Calculated Output Values area is where DC power supply values are entered (see Figure 11). Provision is made for up to four supply voltages. Efficiency values are used to calculate what the power supply input power requirements will be. Enter values only in the cells with colored backgrounds. A total input power value is also calculated.

Figure 11    DC Power Supply Area
Parameter Description Range Tolerance Units
Voltages Power supply nominal output voltages -500 to +500 - V
Efficiency Efficiency in converting from input voltage to output voltage 1 to 100 - %
Component Parameters Component current requirement 0 to 106 - mA
Table 3    AC/DC Power Budget Input Parameters
Power calculation is straight forward as follows, where the power is the required output power from the associated supply:
The supply input power requirement is calculated as follows using the efficiency value:

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The Internet was still largely an unknown entity at the time and not much was available in the form of WYSIWYG ...
